Alone I sing, together we perform

Cumbria Education Trust is delighted to launch their first musical performance. Children and young people aged 4- 18 from across the Trust’s family of schools will come together to share the stage in a showcase of musical theatre, contemporary dance and acrobatic gymnastics.

This concert is a fabulous opportunity for youngsters to demonstrate their skills, celebrate their talent and inspire others to shine.

The Escher String Quartet

Christmas Lights Parade and Fireworks

Cockermouth

Sunday 19th November

Cockermouth Christmas Lights Switch on

Cockermouth gets into the festive spirit from 2pm, with the Christmas lights switched on at 5pm. Main Street will feature a Children's Fun Fair and Christmas stalls provided by many local charities and organisations selling Christmas gifts, crafts, mince pies, mulled wine etc. Father Christmas will be in his grotto and free face painting will be available in the Cockermouth Town Council tent.

Kendal

Sunday 19th November

Kendal Christmas Lights Switch on

Santa and his reindeer will arrive in Abbot Hall from 2pm to join in the festive activities before leaving at around 4.10pm to lead the parade through town.

There will be plenty of Christmas festivities and entertainment going on throughout Kendal’s town centre all afternoon before Santa arrives for the lights switch-on at 4.45pm.

The Lakeland Radio stage will host a fabulous selection of festive talent along with live music.

Ulverston

Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th November

Ulverston Dickensian Christmas Festival

Why not savour the wonderful atmosphere of a traditional market town in the Dickensian era? There'll be costume competitions, free events for children, horse drawn carriages, balloon modelling, music and dancing. Plus a traditional fairground, complete with Helter Skelter and a variety of music from folk to brass bands.

There will also be a Christmas market, with lots of unusual gifts and festive food, providing plenty of opportunity for Christmas shopping in a great atmosphere. Why not go in costume and enter into the spirit of the event and take part in the period dress competition? A grand parade around Ulverston takes place on both Festival days. The Secret Garden
